New Warzone Assault Rifle with no recoil dominates at long range
A brand-new Assault Rifle in Warzone Season 5 has everything you want in a primary weapon, combining no recoil and a fast time to kill.
Low-recoil Assault Rifles almost always dominate in Warzone’s meta, and after all the buffs, nerfs, and new weapons added in the Season 5 update, the new FG42 has taken that spot.
Unlocked by completing Page 3 in the Season 5 Battle Pass, the FG42 is described as “Well-rounded with average accuracy, mobility, and power.”
Despite being called “average,” it’s anything but. It has everything you want in an Assault Rifle: No recoil, great fire rate, brilliant range, and fast bullet velocity.
Using stats from CODMunity, we can see that while it’s not the quickest-killing within 42 meters, it excels beyond that distance. It’s the fastest-killing Assault Rifle at every range beyond 42 meters, meaning if you can land your shots, you’re almost guaranteed to win the gunfight.
Luckily, landing shots with the FG42 is extremely easy. Combine its low recoil with its respectable bullet velocity, and you won’t have any trouble staying on target at distance.

The Fang Hoverpoint ELO Optic is a clean reflex optic that also helps with Recoil Stabilization, making it a great choice.
Then, to increase the FG42’s range, combining the Monolithic Suppressor and 16″ Bandolier Barrel will not only help with damage range and bullet velocity, but will also help keep the weapon under control.
The Dirge Handguard will help with Horizontal Recoil Control, Movement Speed, and Sprinting Speed; then the Debase Extended Mag increases the magazine size to 60.
