Obsidian Is Working On A New Fallout Project, Confirms Bethesda
Fallout: New Vegas developer Obsidian Entertainment is working on a new Fallout project, Bethesda Game Studios has revealed today.
The developer made the comments during a lengthy post detailing its upcoming projects, which include Fallout 5 being in preproduction, an update on The Elder Scrolls VI, as well as confirming that remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are in development. There’s not much to go on, but here’s the official blurb:
The wasteland continues to expand as we team up once again with our longtime friends at Obsidian Entertainment. We’re happy to confirm they’re working with us on a new Fallout project. We’ll have more to share in the future.
Obsidian was one of many studios that were hit by the mass Xbox layoffs earlier this month where it was reported the developer lost about 25% of its staff. Around the same time, it was claimed that Obsidian was working on a new Fallout game but had cancelled Avowed 2, although in regards to the latter it was reported earlier this week that the sequel could still happen.
