Palworld: How to Craft Cryogenic Coolant

If you’ve started a new save for the release of Palworld 1.0, you might have noticed a slew of new items required to craft familiar items.

One of the most common ones you’ll come across is the Cryogenic Coolant, which is required for a massive amount of items, from firearms to crafting stations.

Being able to craft this coolant is one of the main barriers to accessing the midgame, so getting it done so you can keep progressing is absolutely crucial. Let’s take a look at this item and how to get our hands on it as quickly as possible.

Unlocking the Cryogenic Coolant

The first thing you’ll need to do is unlock the coolant recipe via the technology tree upon reaching level 31.

The main ingredients for this recipe are the following:

• Aquatic Pal Fluids
• Ice Organ

These are 2 very common ingredients you can obtain by defeating or capturing Water and Ice-type Pals. Simply scout the nearby coastlines or visit somewhere like Duneshelter in the desert, where you can buy Ice Organs from the Merchant.

Crafting the Coolant

So you have the ingredients, but there doesn’t seem to be an option on your regular crafting benches. Well, this is because the Cryogenic Coolant is a more complicated material, and thus, the normal crafting stations aren’t quite up to the job.

Instead, you’ll need to craft a Production Assembly Line, which is simply a more advanced type of crafting station. You’ll need to gather the following materials:

• 100x Ingot
• 5x Wooden Board
• 20x Nails
• 10x Cement

Once you have these, find a place for your Assembly Line. However, this still won’t do the job just yet. First, you’ll need to find a way to power it.

In the infrastructure tab, you’ll find a machine called a Power Generator, requiring the following:

• 50x Ingots
• 20x Electric Organ

You begin storing electricity; you need to assign an electric Pal to charge it up. You can find electric pals like Sparkit and Jolthog pretty early on, and these will come in super handy moving forward!

Assign the Pal to the generator, and now the belt on the Assembly Line will begin to move. Now you can assign another pal to the line and begin to craft the coolant.

Cryogenic Coolant Uses

The first thing you’ll probably use the coolant for is creating an improved furnace. This new furnace can create Refined Ingots as well as everything the previous version could. These new Ingots are used in basically every midgame item moving forward, so be sure to stock up!

In addition, the coolant can be used for many of the following items:

• Technology pieces like Saddles, Hot Springs and Ponds
• Weapons like Water Grenades, Rifles, and Flamethrowers
• Numerous types of Cold-Resistant Armour
