Build quality and display
The Realme C100X offers heavy-duty ArmorShell protection for military-grade shock resistance. It can survive drops from up to two meters. The hardware also features a Rain Touch Mode, helping you grip the phone properly even with wet hands. Notably, the phone’s Speaker Cleaner function can use sound vibrations to push out dust and water from the speakers.

The Vivo T5 Lite also packs a highly durable build with military-grade shock resistance. The smartphone has survived repeated drops from a height of 1.22 meters during its testing phase. Its IP65 rating also provides decent protection against dust and low-pressure water.

Realme’s C100X has a 6.8-inch HD+ LCD display. It boasts an 83% NTSC color gamut and 8-bit color depth (16.7 million colors). The LCD display features up to 250 ppi, providing a decent visual experience. Its 120 Hz refresh rate is standard and decent for scrolling and gaming.

On the other hand, the Vivo T5 Lite features a slightly smaller 6.74-inch display. The phone’s HD+ LCD display is very similar to its competitor’s, with an 83% NTSC color gamut and a standard 120 Hz refresh rate.

Performance
The Realme C100X features the Unisoc T7250 chipset. Built using a 12nm FinFET process, this octa-core processor packs the Arm Mali G57 MP1 iGPU and can still reach a max boost frequency of 1.8 GHz.
However, it is no competition for the Vivo T5 Lite’s Dimensity 6300 SoC. Built on a 6nm process, this Dimensity chipset includes a Mali G57 MC2 iGPU and offers a maximum boost frequency of 2.0 GHz.

Unlike the Unisoc T7250, which maxes out at 4G, the Dimensity 6300 chipset also supports 5G, making the Vivo phone a much more timely pick than its competitor.

Camera and battery
Both smartphones feature quite similar camera performance. The Realme C100X packs a 50 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. While the Vivo T5 Lite features a dual-camera setup (50 MP main + 0.08 MP secondary) on the back, the secondary camera does little to improve image quality. This device also features a 5 MP front camera.

As mentioned earlier, battery capacity is one of the key differentiators between the Realme C100X vs Vivo T5 Lite. The former comes with an 8000 mAh battery, while the Vivo T5 Lite has a much smaller 6500 mAh battery. Realme is the clear winner in this segment, and its users will get a much longer runtime per charge cycle.

The Realme C100X’s base variant starts at 14,499 Rupees, while the Vivo phone’s base model starts at 19,999 Rupees.
Final verdict: Which one is the better smartphone?
With both smartphones sharing almost similar device specifications, the better choice depends more on the user’s requirements. If you are looking for a budget smartphone with 5G connectivity and better performance, the Vivo T5 Lite is a much better option.
However, if you do not care about 5G connectivity or performance and seem a secondary smartphone with a decent camera and an impressive runtime per full charge, the Realme phone can meet your requirements at a much lower price.
