Samsung unveils Flex Titanium technology for next-generation foldable Galaxy smartphones

Samsung is all set to host its next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, where the company will unveil the next generation Galaxy Z series foldable smartphones. Now ahed of the launch, the South Korean smartphone maker has announced the launch of Flex Titanium technology for its upcoming Galaxy foldable devices. Built on seven generations of foldable innovation, the redesigned display structure enhances durability and reduces crease visibility, delivering a more refined foldable experience.As per the company, Flex Titanium integrates two titanium components — a titanium-alloy film and a titanium plate — to balance slimness, flexibility, and strength. The titanium-alloy film, positioned below the OLED panel, offers 20 times greater mechanical stiffness compared to polymer film, while remaining exceptionally thin. The titanium plate beneath the display module provides robust support and flexibility, enabling repeated folding without compromising durability.Kyung-Jin Yoo, EVP and head of mobile display product development team, Samsung Display, added: “By introducing sophisticated micro-patterned holes to the folding section of the titanium plate, we have successfully secured flexibility with robust durability. Combining high-resolution display architecture with new organic materials that maximize power efficiency, we will further strengthen the competitiveness of next-generation Galaxy foldable devices.”The new structure delivers ultra-vivid resolution, reduced power consumption, and improved efficiency. By balancing strength, flexibility, and structural stability, Flex Titanium technology enables immersive viewing on a seamless screen with minimized crease visibility.

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 22

Samsung has confirmed that it will host the next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, 2026 in London. Themed “A New Shape Unfolds”, the showcase will highlight Samsung’s latest foldable smartphones and AI-powered innovations. The event will be streamed globally at 2 p.m. BST / 9 a.m. EDT / 6:30 p.m. IST.“On July 22, Samsung Electronics will host Galaxy Unpacked in London, U.K. — a city that moves forward, not by chasing trends, but by setting them. Join us as we unveil the newest additions to the Galaxy portfolio, which has defined the foldable category.
