Supercell, Scopely Vet Bill Kang Joins Lil Snack as COO

Gaming company Lil Snack has tapped Scopely and Supercell alum Bill Kang as its new chief operating officer.

Since launching three years ago, Lil Snack now operates more than 20 daily games across platforms including Netflix, Peacock and Reddit, and has seen engagement grow 500% year over year, surpassing hundreds of millions of plays. Kang joins the company following its more than $8 million in funding last year from investors including a16z, Lerer Hippeau and Waverley Capital. Hasbro is also a partner and minority investor in Lil Snack.

As COO, Kang will lead operations and commercial strategy, “scaling the engine that ships new games daily while deepening and expanding Lil Snack’s partnerships across streaming, publishing, and other consumer platforms,” per the company.

Kang joins Lil Snack after 12 years at Supercell, the Finnish mobile gaming developer behind “Clash of Clans” and “Brawl Stars.” Previously he worked at Scopely alongside other members of the Lil Snack founding team.

“Bill is one of the most respected operators in mobile gaming, and his decision to join us says everything about where the industry is heading,” Lil Snack co-founder and CEO Eric Berman said. “Our mission is to bring bite-sized play to the world. Bill’s experience scaling global, multi-billion-dollar game companies is exactly the rocket fuel we need to capture the massive opportunity in front of us.”

“Bill and I first crossed paths in the earliest days of Scopely,” Lil Snack Co-Founder Travis Chen said. “Working together again — now on the opposite end of the games spectrum, building small daily experiences instead of forever games — feels like a full-circle moment for both of us.”

“At Supercell and Scopely, we focused on building games that could delight and retain players for a decade,” Kang said. “Lil Snack inverts that model: instead of asking people to find our games, we bring play to where people already are — bite-sized daily habits woven into the platforms they love, driving real engagement for our partners. Scaling that engine is the exact kind of puzzle I love to solve.”
