The ‘Cadillac of Kindles’ is $150 off at Best Buy and a great e-reader for back to school

Priced at $629, the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is one of the best e-readers you can buy. We called it the “Cadillac of Kindles” because it has a crisp 11-inch screen that’s capable of displaying your books in black and white or color and includes a stylus with a built-in eraser tool.
For a limited time, Best Buy has the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft on sale for $479. It’s one of my favorite Best Buy Black Friday in July sales this week and an excellent way to get Amazon’s premium Kindle for less.
In our Kindle Scribe Colorsoft review, we said Amazon’s premium tablet is well-suited for anyone who expects to read and write a lot and likes to do so in color. We were hesitant about its high price, but now that it’s on sale it’s a great Kindle we recommend for just about anything.
We love the large e-paper display that makes reading documents and comic books easier than on any other Kindle. It also gives you enough room to work on documents while opening the expandable margin to take notes. There’s also an included stylus (Kindle Premium Pen) that comes with the Colorsoft, which magnetically attaches to the side of the device. It has a screen-sensitive rear end you can use to “erase” what you’ve written, as well as a shortcut button on the side you can customize to your liking.
Even on sale, the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is still an expensive purchase. However, if you’re a Kindle fan who’s already used to working within Amazon’s ecosystem and want the added option to write, doodle, and read in color — Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is for you.
