Valorant Agent Concept: Lyre – Initiator

Valorant Agent Concept: Lyre - Initiator

Lyre Summary – All art done by me :3 !

Are people still doing these? I love looking at what people come up with, they're always so cool, but I think the hype's died down? Anyway, here's mine that I've been cooking up for a year: LYRE, an inhuman, radiant artifact bound radiant who's body is itself a cursed book™.

! THE IDEA
I've always wanted an agent that could copy the abilities of others, but not tied to their ultimate (since, copying only some of the time seems a bit lame lmao), so that was the core design that I based everything off of (in addition to his theme of the cursed book.) This Agent would definitely play slow paced, a tempo agent kind of, and thrives with teamwork, BUT can also work solo.

I'd imagine him working in any composition because of his versatility, but I don't think it'll be a Clove situation where duelist mains run down mid on him because the rest of his kit incentivizes team play/unselfishness. (Just because of how admittedly OP his abilities are, you'd want to actually use them rather than replace them).

I have a whole ass fanfiction I'm cooking up about how he's incorporated within the Valorant universe, but as a summary:

! THE LORE
An unnamed assassin from the Scions of Hourglass somehow became one with a radianite artifact they were studying, gaining its powers but also being remade by it. Rescued by the Valorant Protocol, he decides to ally with his rescuers to save their world and take down the Scions of Hourglass in the process.

The name Lyre came from the lyrebird that can mimic any sounds, artificial or natural! (And also influenced his birdlike design). His limbs made from paper randomly transform into paper-mache monster parts like claws, talons, tendrils, etc., so that's why they're uncovered!

That's it ! :3 anyway,

! THE ABILITIES
// C: QUOTE [ 1 Charge ] – [ 250 ¤ ] – [ 3s debuff ]

EQUIP the Tome's ink, entering a world of text to reveal the truth of a small area. PRESS the ability key to transform the marked location into text. HOLD FIRE while targeting to move the marker further away. HOLD ALT FIRE while targeting to move the marker closer.

All enemies who look at the text will be stunned and decayed after a short duration.

Kind of like Omen/Harbor's orb smokes (but can be placed in midair) combined with Breach/Reyna's blind. So windup 1.5s > flash > disappear.

Affected enemies get a stunned affect on their screen mixed with sounds similar to Fade's nightmare whisperings, displacing their crosshair too.

Flavor text – Voicelines: "Maddening, isn't it?"

Targeting

Activation

// Q: PAGE TURN [ 1 Charge ] – [ 300 ¤ ] – [ 20s duration ]

EQUIP the Tome's pages. RELEASE EQUIP to create a wide passage way through a wall.

Anything can pass through, and its length is infinite, BUT it has a set width. (About 1/2 of a sage wall). Disappears from the end to the start after its duration (pushes anyone inside out), and abilities cannot be placed within the passage.

Flavor text – Voicelines: "Shall we skip this part?"

Passage way active

// E: ANALYSIS [ 1 Charge ] – [ 60s cooldown ] – [ Signature ]

EQUIP the Tome's pages. FIRE to select which enemy to copy, replacing Lyre's entire kit with theirs. Exhausts after an ability is used, exhausting Lyre's respective ability as well.

Kind of confusing but, if you've used an ability like your C (QUOTE), when you copy, you won't have a C, and vice versa (E.g., if you used Omen's C (TELEPORT) while copying him, you won't have Lyre's C (QUOTE) and E (ANALYSIS).

This works with Lyre's ultimate as well!! So if you have his ult, then you copy, you can have Raze's ult, at the cost of his own ult! (and his copy ability too).

Deployables will work as normal, since they replace that ability entirely for Lyre as well. (KJ alarmbot, Deadlock sensors, Cypher camera).

For an extremely selfish example: Copying Reyna at the start of the round, getting a pick, then using dismiss to safely get out.

Flavor text – Voicelines:
– Describes the copied agent in one word when you copy. (Reyna – zealous; Sage – willful; Brimstone – cautious; Viper – obstinate…)
– Because his voice is made up of the voices of others, when using abilities while in copy, the copied agent's voice is the loudest in the choir.

// X: REVISION [ 8 points ] – [ 10s duration ] – [ 1s windup]

EQUIP the Tome. FIRE to set where the Tome begins to revise, its area of focus shrinking every second. HOLD EQUIP at anytime to conclude its targeting. When the Tome finishes its targeting or is manually concluded, anything and anyone within is region is sent to the past however long [the tome] spent focusing.

At first, its radius is as wide as Killjoy's Lockdown, then over 10 seconds, shrinks to to the size of Vyse's Razorvines. If you pop it immediately, everything goes back 1 second.
– It shrinking like this makes it more strategic rather than brainless, imo.

Maximum rewind time is 11 seconds. Deceased enemies and allies are revived for however long it spent focusing + 5 seconds!

Everyone regains the abilities they used and/or placed (deployables are removed and given back). I'd like to think that the spike also rewinds? But may be too op… though, it is an ult lmao.

Flavor text – Voicelines: "MERE WORDS" to enemies, "AGAIN" to allies.

! THE END 😀
He hates Omen btw. So when you copy him, Lyre says nothing. And even though he doesn't have a voice of his own, he likes to converse with the rest of the cast (sharing interests like reading stories with Clove, bird watching with Skye and Sova, and tactics and strategy with the veterans!)

Thanks for reading!
