Xiaomi officially teases new Poco phone in orange finish
The standard Poco M8 launched in January 2026 as a mid-range smartphone and shared many similarities with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 (curr. $249.50 on Amazon). Now, a new Flipkart microsite is live for the Poco M8 Power 5G.
The official teaser states that the Poco M8 Power 5G is “coming soon” in India. The company has revealed that it will feature a big battery, though the exact capacity has not yet been disclosed. The teaser also provides a partial look at the phone in an orange finish.
Other details, including the specifications and launch date, are yet to be revealed officially. However, the Poco M8 Power’s model number, found in the HyperOS codebase, suggests that it could be a rebranded Redmi Note 17.
For context, the Redmi Note 17 features a 7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,396 x 1,080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It uses the entry-level Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset and packs an 8,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging support. The Redmi Note 17 comes with a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.
That said, the Poco M8 Power 5G could still have some hardware differences. For example, the standard Poco M8 shared much of its hardware with the Redmi Note 15 but used a 50MP main camera instead of the latter’s 108MP camera.
