007: First Light’s First Major Update Adds Two New Missions, Weapons, and Fixes Over 200 Issues

Developed by IO Interactive, 007 First Light has received glowing reviews since its launch just two months ago, as gamers have been enthralled with getting to play a young James Bond as he attempts to join MI6, and become the 007 that we all know and love.

First Light’s first major update has already arrived, and it doesn’t disappoint. Update 1.1.0 is live now, and while its main purpose was to fix over 200 issues reported by the community, it also includes new content in the form of additional weapons and missions.

007: First Light Receives New Content and Massive Wave of Improvements

While Bond fans have been, more often than not, over the moon with the overall enjoyment factor of First Light, the game wasn’t without its flaws, but IO Interactive has just cleaned house on what must be the majority of the game’s technical issues.

Ranging from stability issues to problems with UI & HUD, gameplay improvements, and fixes for bugged-out achievements and challenges, this update adds a layer of polish to what has already been deemed one of the best games from 2026.

According to the patch notes, the “first patch for 007 First Light beyond our initial series of hotfixes […] introduces fixes and improvements for over 200 issues reported by the community and our internal play testers. From crash fixes and clipping issues to infamous achievement unlock bugs, this update demonstrates our team’s commitment to refining the 007 First Light experience.”

Even though many First Light fans will be very pleased to hear of the technical fixes and smoother gameplay, IO Interactive made sure to also include some new content.

Update 1.1.0 is live now, and while its main purpose was to fix over 200 issues reported by the community, it also includes new content in the form of additional weapons and missions.

The following new content has been added to 007: First Light in Update 1.1.0:

  • New three-tier TacSim Escalation: The Workshop
  • New three-tier TacSim Escalation: Extraction Avenues
  • TacSim Weapon: Stormberg 50’cal
  • TacSim Weapon: DRX-2 Machine Pistol
  • TacSim Weapon: DRS-7 Silenced SMG
  • New TacSim Outfit: Diamond in the Rough

Bond will have to utilize his best gadgets and espionage tricks to make it out of these new missions alive. In the workshop escalation, players will be faced with seven hostiles that stand in the way of your exit, forcing you to take full advantage of your stealthy strategies.

In the extraction avenues escalation, players will have to plan out an escape route by reading a security layout and hastily exit the building before backup arrives.

For the new weapons and cosmetics, IO Interactive has stated, “These rewards can be acquired using your hard-earned Intel currency after reaching the required clearance level.”

First Light’s Gameplay Just Got a Lot Smoother

While it was certainly thoughtful of IO to include some new missions to play, and weapons to unlock, the biggest win here is the impressive number of fixes and improvements that have been implemented.

The sheer number of these fixes means there’s a good chance the bulk of First Light’s technical problems have already been solved, which will give IO more time to allocate towards creating new content.

Update 1.1.0’s technical improvements target: stability problems, achievements not being unlocked, a host of gameplay bugs, and mission-specific problems that resulted in blocked progress.

Here are the missions that have received fixes in the latest First Light update:

  • In His Majesty’s Secret Service
  • All the Time in the World
  • Beyond The Grave
  • Uninvited
  • Case Closed
  • Knightfall
  • Time to Die
  • Against the Odds
  • Man of the Hour
  • Wave of the Future
  • For England
