PARIVISION claim Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2026 championship with finals victory over BetBoom Team

PARIVISION were nigh unstoppable throughout the Dota 2 Esports World Cup, as they dropped just three games en route to the championship.

Eastern European Dota 2 juggernauts PARIVISION have been crowned as champions of the Dota 2 Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 after they defeated regional rivals BetBoom Team, 3-1, in the grand finals on Monday (20 July).

With their victory, PARIVISION claimed the lion’s share of US$750,000 out of the tournament’s US$2 million prize pool. This also marks the team’s second Tier 1 tournament title of the 2025-2026 competitive season after their first from DreamLeague Season 29 in May, with both notably coming after living legend Clement “Puppey” Ivanov took over as team coach in January.

More importantly, PARIVISION’s Dota 2 EWC victory cements their position as the biggest favourites to claim the Aegis of Champions in The International (TI) 2026 next month.

Meanwhile, BetBoom settle for second place and US$340,000 in consolation. While they fall short of the Dota 2 EWC title, BetBoom can still hang their hats on a strong performance throughout the tournament. They will also be heading into TI 2025 as one of the biggest contenders for the world championship title.

PARIVISION and BetBoom’s journeys to the Dota 2 EWC grand finals

PARIVISION entered the Dota 2 EWC as one of the two biggest favourites to claim the title alongside another Eastern European giant in Team Yandex. On the other hand, BetBoom were considered one of the stronger contenders in the tournament.

In the Group Stage, PARIVISION looked nigh unstoppable and finished as the top seed of Group C with a 9-1 record. They enjoyed a perfect 8-0 record through the first four days of the Group Stage, sweeping the likes of Vici Gaming, MOUZ, REKONIX, and Team Nemesis. While PARIVISION suffered their only loss of the Group Stage in a 1-1 draw against defending champions Team Spirit, they still earned a direct berth to the Playoffs.

Meanwhile, BetBoom finished the Group Stage as the second seed of Group A with an 8-2 record, earning a spot in the Survival Stage as a result. BetBoom swept the likes of Xtreme Gaming, GamerLegion, and Poor Rangers, while their two losses came in 1-1 draws against the group’s top seed in Team Falcons and the tournament’s surprise contender in Rune Eaters Esports.

While PARIVISION enjoyed a lengthy break before the Playoffs, BetBoom soundly swept LGD Gaming in the second round of the Survival Stage to advance to the tournament’s final stage.

The eventual grand finalists then began their respective Playoff campaigns with strong showings in the quarterfinals, where PARIVISION ended Rune Eaters’ Cinderella Run while BetBoom routed Group A top seed Nigma Galaxy.

In the semifinals, BetBoom became the first team to advance to the grand finals with a sweep over Vici Gaming. Meanwhile, PARIVISION outlasted fellow tournament favourites Yandex to move to the championship round in a series that some considered as the tournament’s real grand finals.

While PARIVISION were heavily favoured to win the grand finals, BetBoom didn’t go down without a fight.

PARIVISION defeat BetBoom 3-1 to claim Dota 2 Esports World Cup championship

BetBoom were the ones to come out swinging in the grand finals, bulldozing through PARIVISION in 48 minutes with an aggressive draft led by Matvey “MieRo” Vasyunin‘s Timbersaw and Ilja “Kiritych” Ulyanov‘s Clinkz. MieRo finished the series opener with a clean nine kills and five assists while Kiritych had five kills and four assists against one death.

Game two would be the pivotal game of the grand finals, with PARIVISION looking to equalise the series and regain momentum while BetBoom were aiming to build a commanding 2-0 series lead to give themselves the best shot at taking down their more favoured opponents.

Both sides entered game two with similar drafts featuring two aggressive melee cores making space for a third ranged core, while the two supports lobbed damage and crowd control abilities from afar.

PARIVISION fielded Lifestealer for Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov, Invoker for Volodymyr “No[o]ne” Minenko, Centaur Warrunner for Evgeniy “Noticed” Ignatenko, Rubick for Naltakyan “9Class” Edgar, and Hoodwink for Andrey “Dukalis” Kuropatkin. Meanwhile, BetBoom had Kiritych on Drow Ranger, Danil “gpk” Skutin on Earth Spirit, MieRo on Largo, Vitalie “Save-” Melnic on Windranger, and Vladislav “Kataomi`” Semenov on Bane.

Both teams were on relatively even footing from the laning stage to the mid game, though BetBoom were poised to be in the better position come late game as they scored three early kills on Satanic. However, PARIVISION were the ones that eventually pulled away starting from the 30-minute mark as they repeatedly outmaneuvered BetBoom while No[o]ne dominated the ensuing teamfights. While BetBoom put up a stubborn defense of their base, they could only delay the inevitable as PARIVISION eventually tied up the grand finals after a 62-minute grinder.

No[o]ne led the way for PARIVISION in game two with 12 kills and 16 assists on three deaths, with Satanic still finishing with 11 kills and 13 assists despite his three deaths in the early game. Despite the loss, Kiritych also had 11 kills and seven assists on just one death.

PARIVISION seemed to have built up the momentum they needed in game three, as they stomped BetBoom in 41 minutes to take a 2-1 series lead. No[o]ne once again fueled his team’s victory, notching a clean 10 kills and 13 assists with Puck as PARIVISION finished game three with double their opponents’ kill count at 32-16. Satanic also had a strong showing with Tiny, recording 13 kills and eight assists on one death.

Despite BetBoom’s best efforts to force the grand finals to a deciding game five, game four ended up being the most one-sided affair of the series. PARIVISION stomped their opponents to the tune of a 29-7 kill lead in 36 minutes of action to secure the Dota 2 EWC championship.

Satanic on Lifestealer topped the kill board with nine kills and eight assists on two deaths while 9class on Keeper of the Light had a clean five kills and 12 assists. No[o]ne on Pangolier also showcased his strength as the team’s playmaker with six kills and a game-best 15 assists on just one death.

What was the Dota 2 Esports World Cup?

The Dota 2 tournament at the Esports World Cup 2026 was the last Tier 1 tournament of the 2025-2026 competitive Dota 2 season, before it culminates in The International 2026 in August. Many of the teams that competed in the EWC also qualified for this year’s Dota 2 world championship tournament, making it a good preview for the battle for the Aegis of Champions next month.

The Dota 2 EWC featured 24 of the best Dota 2 teams in the world and took place from 7 to 19 July in the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France. The teams fought for EWC glory and the lion’s share of US$750,000, out of the tournament’s US$25 million prize pool.

The Dota 2 EWC was split into three stages; the Group Stage from 7 to 12 July, the Survival Stage from 14 to 15 July, and the Playoffs from 16 to 19 July.

The Group Stage saw the 24 teams split into four groups of six teams each to play in a single round-robin with best-of-two matches. The top team from each group advanced directly to the Playoffs, the second to fourth-placed teams moved to the Survival Stage, while the two bottom finishers were among the first to be eliminated.

The Survival Stage then featured the 12 teams that finished third to fourth in their respective groups during the Group Stage, with four spots in the Playoffs left up for grabs in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches. The Survival Stage opened with the third and fourth seeds from different groups taking each other on, with the winners moving on to face the second place teams for the four Playoff spots.

Finally, the Playoffs was a single-elimination bracket featuring the four teams that finished as the top seeds of their groups in the Group Stage, as well as the four teams that made it out of the Survival Stage. All matches in the Playoffs were a best-of-three except for the grand finals, which was a full best-of-five series.
