Deborah Ann Woll Isn’t Bothered About Negative Reactions To PS5’s God Of War Laufey

God of War Laufey actress Deborah Ann Woll has commented during a signing at Florida Supercon that she’s not all that bothered about online hate directed at the project since its unveiling back in June.
Woll portrays lead character Faye (aka Laufey) in the latest entry in the God of War series, although the game’s direction has attracted some negativity from certain corners of the web, seeing as how Kratos is no longer the main focus and a woman is taking the spotlight. There’s also some people who aren’t too fond of the supporting characters that will accompany Faye on her journey.
When asked about how she feels about these reactions, Woll replied, “I mean, genuinely, I thought I was going to be much more affected by it. One, I’m not on social media, so that helps. And two, I don’t know, I feel totally unbothered because I just know [God of War Laufey is] great. Like, it’s okay if it’s not your cup of tea, but in no universe is it bad.”
God of War Laufey is currently in development for the PS5, although a release date hasn’t been announced yet. However, developer Sony Santa Monica Studio has recently confirmed that the game will get a physical disc release, which considering Sony is stopping production on game discs in January 2028, all but guarantees God of War Laufey will come out in 2027.
