Fallout 3 & Fallout: New Vegas Remastered Officially Announced By Bethesda
Remasters of both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are currently in development, Bethesda Game Studios announced today during a lengthy post on X detailing its future plans for its major franchises.
Speaking in a section of the post titled ‘The Future of Fallout,’ Bethesda revealed that it has “multiple Fallout projects in active development right now,” before adding, “We also know many players want to revisit previous Fallout experiences. While we’re not announcing any dates today, we have been working on remasters for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.”
That’s all the developer had to says on the remasters, although it did add that it has “something special” planned for the 30th anniversary of Fallout next year. As previously reported, Fallout 5 is among the new titles in the series currently in the pipeline, with the all-new entry in the post-apocalyptic RPG franchise in preproduction on Creatine Engine 3.
Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas have both been rumoured previously, with Fallout 3 having leaked a few years ago alongside the now-released The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered in court documents regarding the FTC vs Microsoft. Last November, VGC reported that Fallout 3 was indeed in development, while Windows Central in January this year claimed a remaster of Fallout: New Vegas was in the works.
Bethesda has yet to confirm a release date or platform(s) for the Fallout 3 Remaster and Fallout: New Vegas Remaster.
