PlayStation Might Be Starting To Panic As PS5 Emulator Shown Booting Up Astro Bot
PlayStation has been making a lot of controversial, some might say anti-consumer, decisions in 2026, and it seems being loud isn’t going to change that. That’s why one group has turned to emulation instead, and the progress the still-young PS5 emulator has made in a short time likely has PlayStation worried.
Emulation hasn’t typically been something PlayStation has had to worry about. PlayStation games can be emulated, but people typically stick to the older titles that aren’t compatible with modern consoles. Now work to emulate PS5 games on PC, thanks to those recent controversial decisions, has begun, and it’s progressing quickly.
Just days after the news of the emulator, called SharpEmu, started to spread, we’ve already seen evidence of it being used to boot up Astro Bot on a PC. Shared by TechDroider on Twitter, a Discord user who goes by RSantila was reportedly able to get the PS5 exclusive to start up on a PC using emulation.
