The Most Important Chart in the History of the Species

If AI solves a Millennium Math Problem or makes significant progress in the Langlands Program it will be beyond any dispute that human creative genius—the sort that belonged to Galois, Ramanujan, and Grothendieck—is no longer the driving force of mathematical research and progress.

If AI can master our most rigorous formal system, what does that mean for the future?

Or perhaps, more interestingly, what if AI plateaus—what if it is able to solve many problems of, say, up to the significance of 80 but not beyond?

What if human creative genius is still needed for those final leaps?
